PhD in Social Work

Walden’s PhD in Social Work program helps prepare you to make significant contributions to your field as a researcher or college-level educator. Acquire new skills in social work theory and program evaluation through scholarly research that enables you to position yourself as an expert and thought leader. The program’s curriculum challenges you to explore cutting-edge issues in social work through completion of both a dissertation and four residencies. You can align your studies with your interests by choosing one of eight specializations, such as Addictions and Social Work, Medical Social Work, or Clinical Expertise.
