As your primary contact when you inquire at Walden University, your enrollment advisor will spend time exploring your educational goals, answering your questions, and guiding you through the application and admission process. Your enrollment advisor will respond to questions about the online learning process and make sure that you have a smooth transition to Walden University’s Student Support Team.
As a Walden student, you will have access to the Writing Center, which is dedicated to increasing your knowledge of academic writing and improving your writing skills. The Writing Center provides writing support for all students during their studies through the university’s online Writing Center. Writing Center staff members are full-time writing instructors and dissertation editors with expertise in academic writing, APA style, and grammar and mechanics. Services and resources include one-on-one paper reviews of coursework; editorial support for capstone writers through the Form and Style Review and other offerings; and webinars, interactive modules, and web-based writing guidance.

Walden University's online Student Support Team members ease your transition to the online classroom with great student service. They provide 24/7 technical support and help you to have a rewarding learning experience. Through a self-paced, user-friendly online orientation, you will become familiar with Walden University’s learning environment. Once you begin your courses, the Student Support Team will serve to help you navigate the online classroom.
As a new Walden student, you will work with a team of academic advisors trained to answer your academic questions, evaluate your progress in your program, and assist you with understanding university policies and procedures. Academic advisors collaborate with Walden faculty, staff, and the Student Support Team to help make your experience enriching and inspiring.
Leading experts in their field, Walden’s distinguished faculty members are mentors who understand your academic needs and are eager to help you succeed. They will respond to your questions and provide feedback on assignments.
As a student, you will have access to the Walden University Library, a fully digital library that provides the Walden community with access to more than 239,000 electronic books, 66,000 full-text journals, and 4.1 million dissertations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can access more than 160 databases, a library-wide search tool, a searchable FAQ, course and subject guides, short instructional videos, recorded and real-time webinars, and self-paced online tutorials through the library’s website. The library also manages ScholarWorks, our institutional repository of Walden University research and publications.
Our Ask A Librarian service allows Walden students, faculty, and staff to request assistance from the librarians via e-mail, chat, or telephone. The library pledges a 24-hour response time for all requests and live service during our chat hours. Librarians can answer questions about using the library’s resources, teach students how to refine topics and searches, and aid students with many other library and information-seeking skills.

Refresh your skills or get support in a new subject area with free tutoring for undergraduate students. Walden partners with an award-winning tutoring service to connect you with certified professional tutors available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Receive live online tutoring in such areas as math, science, accounting, and statistics. An online writing lab offers detailed critiques to help strengthen your writing skills.
As a student, you will have access to the Academic Skills Center, which provides tutoring, support courses, workshops, and other instruction to help students succeed in their courses at Walden University. The Academic Skills Center’s resources are designed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, time management, and other areas.
Tutoring in the Academic Skills Center provides one-on-one help with statistics and biostatistics (including SPSS); accounting and finance; NVivo software; and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Tutors also present instructional webinars and chat forums that students can attend live or watch in the center’s recordings archive. The archive includes recordings from the center’s International Student Success Conference.
The Academic Skills Center’s WCSS Program houses student success courses and doctoral capstone revision workshops. This program’s goal is to promote students’ scholarly skill development for success in their academic degree programs. University data have indicated that doctoral proposal approval rates were higher for students who enrolled in a WCSS doctoral capstone revision workshop (71%) compared to students who did not enroll (27%).
The Academic Skills Center’s Savvy Student series of instructional resources includes live and recorded webinars, podcasts, blog posts, and a monthly student e-newsletter. The center’s Success Strategies also help students strengthen their skills for success in courses and in the workplace. Success Strategies offer tips for brainstorming, collaboration, math, oral presentations, problem solving, and developing academic and professional SMART goals, among many other skills.

As a student and graduate, you will have access to the Career Services Center’s practical online tools for the complete career planning and advancement cycle, including everything from live virtual networking events and drop-in advising, career research, and job offer considerations to résumé writing tips, networking strategies, and interviewing guidance. The Center offers Walden Career Connections events, which enable students and alumni from anywhere in the world to network with other members of the Walden community via virtual chat. The Center hosts a Walden University Career Services Center LinkedIn Group with nearly 5000 students and alumni.
The Center’s website features monthly career webinars and Skills Cafés, Quick Start instructional videos covering popular career topics, Career Spotlight videos of student success stories, and resources for job opportunities, professional associations, and networking groups. Students and alumni may use the OptimalResume system with hundreds of sample templates to develop targeted résumés, curricula vitae, cover letters, electronic portfolios, and personal websites to showcase their employment qualifications.
The Career Services Center team provides tailored career-related advice on an individual basis via phone, e-mail, and live IM chat during Drop-In Advising. They also offer career webinars on a variety of topics, including crafting a career plan, mid-life job search strategies, resumes and cv’s, and networking via LinkedIn and other strategies. Additionally, the Center offers an archived Doctoral Webinar Series as well as career advising and workshops at academic residencies.
